Creating a Graphic Novel : Art – Food – Photography

Despicable Me really got the character designs for the minions done right. They are absolutely perfectly “cast” for the movie.

Frank Kadar has his last Superman The Legend artist proof on eBay now. Inspired by the iconic fight between Superman and Zod (Kneel before!!) in the recent Man of Steel movie and Superman 2. Bid high and bid often! Frank also has a FB page to check out!

One more statue to add to my recent Iron Mark 42. This one is the Kotobuyika Flash from DC 52. Trying for a little bit of “speed” effect so I over exposed the photo. I’m still considering whether that was the right move. Let me know your thoughts!

In time for the new Iron Man 3 movie, the Mark 42 armour. The Pop! Marvel collection is a little hit and miss, they all look pretty good however the paint job and quality varies quite a bit from figure to figure. (Took me a while to find a nice Mark 42!) Couldn’t resist this one and blue lights added into the photo for the little extra effect.

Like most Marvel movies, there is an extra scene after the credits! Make sure you stay to check it out.

2012 was a slightly quieter year for SIGMATESTUDIO with “real life” getting in the way a little. Still managed to complete an interview with Australian Queenie Chan. (Her work is absolutely incredible!)

The highlight for 2012 was the follow up Marcio Takara on Incorruptible. It was a little sad bidding good bye to a fantastic series written by Mark Waid!

What’s planned for 2013?
Definitely getting more interviews and artwork up!

One artist at the NYCC (New York Comic Convention) will be Geraldo Borges who has an amazing artbook for sale! Geraldo is the current penciller for Green Lantern Corps and was helped in design of other DC titles like Justice League and Wonder Woman. He’s been working with comics since 1997 and is also a professor of Animation and Infographics at University of Fortaleza.
