Breaking in some watercolour pencils

Previous featured artist Michael Munshaw submitted a Supergirl sketch as a showcase piece.

In his words :
“I was playing around with some watercolor pencils my wife bought me. I needed something to play with that was already lying around, and there was your Supergirl.”

Thanks for letting me share this piece!

It was a lot of fun to play with the color. The scan makes the lines look a bit more harsh than what the actual piece looks like. I think I may keep at this and do some more color sketch work trying to get a softer feel.

    Michelle,
That’s funny you mention the pink. It was not the color I was originally going for. I was shooting for the original Superman red. But once I started it, I also kinda liked it and thought for Supergirl, a more pink color was appropriate.

Good choice of colour because that pink just jumps out at me.
