Creating a Graphic Novel : Art – Food – Photography

Slowly sorting out the rewards for Word Smith Volume 3. The A5 original sketch (with a touch of colour) is so awesome. I’m a little sad, I have to pack them and post them out. I am happy that they will all be going to good homes though. This is an awesome PR sketch of Mei-Li!

Production of Word Smith Volume 3 is powering ahead. There’s a lot of things happening in parallel but I thought I’d provide a quick sneak peek at the back cover layout. Enjoy!

The back image is a completed panel from inside the book. I love the different expressions on their faces. I really can’t wait before I can get this graphic novel out to you to read.

It’s been a long couple of months but the Kickstarter and IndieGoGo campaigns for Word Smith Volume 3 is now over. Firstly a huge thank you for everyone’s support. I’m so glad to be able to bring this story to life. There is a long weekend coming up so I’m going to take a short break before getting back into it.

I received the completed sketch of Victoria and Sparky from Malaysian artist Wallace Cheong! It will be used as an A5 print for one the rewards. I’m so happy with how it turned out. As the production of Word Smith 3 progresses, I’ll keep posting updates so you will know how everything is going!

I know this post is a little late but a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported the Word Smith 3 Kickstarter! This has my biggest campaign ever with over 500+ backers (542 backers) and coming so close to AU$20K raised (AU$19,862).

I’m so excited to be able to bring the next chapter of Victoria’s story and I can’t wait for you guys to read it. I’ll provide updates as production progresses but all the artwork is done except for the drawn in pages. Thanks once again for backing Word Smith!

The Word Smith 3 Kickstarer has now been live for a week and it’s been amazing! I am absolutely blown away by all the support I have received, I can’t believe we’ve crossed the $10K mark.

Victoria and Sparky are so happy to be able to share their story with all of you. The stakes will be raised higher in this volume as the Word Smith universe continues to grow. Word Smith 3 is now LIVE on Kickstarer. YES! It’s just been launched! I’m always a mess of nerves when I press that launch button. I do hope you can check it out and any support will be much appreciated. Let’s see how many backers we can get and break some stretch goals!

Word Smith has been absolutely amazing to create. I love the steampunk fantasy genre (aetherpunk) and I’ve got the first arc all planned out. The stakes are going to get higher! What will Victoria and her friends get up to in this latest volume?

Collaborating with Dan Feuerriegel and Comics2Movies has been an amazing experience. I’m proud to say the cyberpunk graphic novel Fractured Shards is now LIVE on KICKSTARTER! I do hope you can check it and be sure to watch the video.

Today is a big day for me! I now have posted out all the rewards for Transhuman – Rivka’s Story. On a rough count, it was around 250+ parcels. Whew . . I’m so glad to get it all done. If you’re in Australia, I’m hoping it will arrive before Christmas. Otherwise, it could take 2-3 months but I’m always hoping there could be a Christmas miracle and you receive it early!

Right now I feel exactly like Mei-Li. I think I will take a chance to relax. After that, it’s back to the production of Word Smith 3. I’m currently planning for a late January 2021 Kickstarter launch.

Here’s a sneak peek at one of the limited edition prints for the Word Smith Volume 3 Kickstarter. The painting done by Emmet Grind and Isabelle Chamois and the characters were done by P.R. Dedelis and Peyton Freeman. I really love how the final piece turned out combining 2 very different styles into one image.
