A&W Root Beer

A&W Root Beer is easily my favourite drink. Especially when served in a chilled glass mug, it’s so absolutely refreshing. Better than any milkshake or green tea latte. *sigh*

Photography – Char Kway Teow Cooking

Awesome food photography in low lighting conditions by Toshio. Following on from the Char Kway Teow post, having a nice hot charcoal fire adds something very special to meal. Street vendor cooking char kway teow over a charcoal fire : Close up on the wok and the charcoal fire :

Chocolate Milkshake

Remember Troy Parke will be in Emerald City Comicon on April 3 and April 4. There are various flavours of milkshakes ranging from the immortal trinity of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry to more exotic like banana, mint and black cherry. I’m actually very boring when it comes to flavours and usually stick with good ‘ole […]

Malaysian Teh (Tea) and Curry Puff

A very Malaysian snack of a cup of hot tea with condensed milk (mmm sweet) and two curry puffs! Unfortunately these curry puffs were filled with potatoes only. Would have tasted better with a little bit of chicken in them. The cups are also pretty distinctively Malaysian, the type you’ll find in your regular kopi […]

Another Green Tea Ice-Cream

Another Green Tea Ice-Cream from a sushi shop in Sydney’s northern suburbs. Except this time wafers instead of cornflakes were used and this version was topped with fresh strawberries. The ice-cream was home made and was very delicious!

Another Green Tea Cappucino

Sometime last year I posted a photo of a Green Tea Cappucino with heart design on the froth. On a recent visit I noticed the design had been changed to flowers. Still tastes great! Troy Parke : Also previous featured artist Troy Parke will be at the Sports Cards / Collectibles Show at the Tacoma, […]

Portugese Egg Tarts

Easily the best Portugese egg tarts from “little Portugal” in Sydney. Delicious flaky pastry with fantastic egg custard filling. The secret taking it from good to exceptional is the light dusting of cinnamon on top. Unfortunately each tart is pretty pricy so it will be a once in a while treat rather than something regular. […]

Assorted Baklava

Following on from Valentine’s Day, something sweet to get your teeth into. Baklava consists of layers of pastry filled with crushed nuts and held all together with honey or syrup. Using various shapes and nuts, you can get a variety of textures and tastes. There’s a pastry shop which specialises in this delicacy and I […]

Another Green Tea Latte

In the search for more Green Tea Latte, I discovered another shop in the Sydney CBD serving this beverage. With a slight bitter taste and green tea powder sprinkled on top, this one was particularly delicious.

Sundried Pesto Spaghetti

A nice easy dish if you are running a little short of time. Cook the spaghetti (as per packet instructions), drain well and return to pot. Add in a splash of olive oil, jar of sundried tomato pesto, canned tuna, chilli flakes (to taste) and sundried tomatoes. Season well with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
