Creating a Graphic Novel : Art – Food – Photography

I can’t believe it’s already 2024. I’ve been a little slack on updating this website so I thought I’d make it up with a long post to start the year off. Towards the end of 2023, Terralympus Volume 4 was launched and it was the most funded Kickstarter of the series. All you supporters are awesome! The digital rewards have been released with printing to kick off soon. The printing process can take 2-3 months but hopefully everything can be sorted much sooner than that!

The Australian Comic Kickstarter Awards ran again in 2023. This is its third year and Transhuman 2 received the top award of most funded and most backed. Again, you supporters are amazing! For a full link of all the winners check out this link. The series I help create, Fractured Shards got nominated for a Ringo which is absolutely mind blowing! I didn’t make the trip to Baltimore for the ceremony but if it gets another nomination in 2024 . . .

So what’s going to happen in 2024? I’m not the best at planning but I’m using the time writing this post as an opportunity to gather my thoughts from the year. Firstly it was a nice chance to shut down over the Christmas and New Year period (like Rivka and Adalyn below!). Transhuman 3 is bubbling ahead with Chiara currently working on the colours. All the artwork for Word Smith 5 is now done. We had to bid farewell to the previous colourist Peyton Freeman (thank you for everything) and welcome aboard Wilson Go who has slipped right into the steampunk world without a problem. I’m hoping this will be one of the projects I launch towards the end of 2024.

Sisters of Blood is a collaboration between artist Abray Tart, Comics2Movies and myself. It’s a fantasy setting where 2 sisters are out to avenge their murdered father. Bound by Blood. Tasked with Vengeance. It’s been a really interesting series to help create and I’m excited for this one to come to life!

In 2024 it will 5 years since the 5 Seconds trilogy ended. The third volume was released in 2023. I thought it would be great to bring this series to new fans with a remastered version of Volume 1. This will include an amazing cover from Eric Gravel and coloured by Adam Ramos.

Whew . . . it’s crazy to see how many things I’m juggling when you finally list it all out. There’s some additional projects I haven’t listed including the next volume of Fractured Shards and Wolf Cubs. I might expand on both of them in a separate post!
