Ryo’s Ramen situated in Crows Nest is one of the trinity of ramen shops in Sydney (which includes Genki in Artarmon & Menya in the CBD). Off the three places, Ryo’s is my favoruite with the queue to get in the only problem. The broth is absolutely fantastic and their ramen is easily the tastiest.

Tonkutsu Ramen :

It’s curious though, you can ask for a less salty version but the less salty version usually taste a little more salty? One of those mysteries?

Tonkutsu Ramen (Again) :

If you sit near the door, you will elicit stares from the hungry people waiting outside. And if you’re waiting outside, it’s torture to see people slurping the noodles and enjoying themselves!

Menu plastered across the yellow wall :

There’s a menu in English but I always think how cool it would be to actually be able to read and understand everything that’s written there. All photos were taken with a Canon G11, the images are sharp and it’s more portable that the Canon 40D (as much as I love the 40D).

Thought I’d share some cosplay photos taken at Sydney Armageddon (Comic Convention). Unfortunately I had to use the Canon G11 and didn’t have the opportunity to use my standard camera Canon 40D (paired with 17-55 f2.8). However I saw some awesome costumes of some Batman villians and the cutest storm trooper!

Harley Quinn – Poison Ivy :

I’m glad this first photo turned out! The convention hall was very dark and without a flash, you just had to open up the aperture, keep your hands steady and shoot! Joker would be so happy with the costume, the cosplayer won a prize if I remember right.

Harley Quinn – Poison Ivy 2 :

A little blurry but you can get a good look at the costumes in this shot.

Star Wars – Cutest little Storm Trooper :

The cutest little storm trooper, her helmet was on the desk behind. Before I took this photo I asked a couple of questions.

Me : Wow . . you’re a cute stormtrooper. Have you seen the movies?

Cutest Stormtrooper : (nods)

Me : Who’s your favourite Star Wars character?

Cutest Stormtrooper : Dora.

Mum : No honey, he’s asking which is your favourite Star Wars. Dora wasn’t in Star Wars.

Cutest Stormtrooper : But mummy . . I like Dora.

Been a while since the last food post and I thought it would be a great opportunity to test out my new Canon G11. Whilst not as sharp as a 40D SLR, it still can create some crisp images even in the below low light conditions with the aperture opened to 2.8. Anyway . . this is a little North shore place in Sydney which has the most delicious gyoza, I think ginger is the key to giving these japanese dumplings that extra zest.
